I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
